Back in 2008 I facilitated a process with a network in the UK to unearth effective practices related to email strategy. 40 out of the 80 network members completed a survey which is how we kicked off the online learning exercise. Though the two resources that I share in this post are helpful, my primary reason for sharing is that this was a great and simple way to engage an audience, gather information from them, aggregate and synthesize it and share it back.
* Survey Results Summary - I think that taking survey result like this and turning it into a resource in and of itself is simple and useful. The data and comments could be used in grant proposals, in presentations you do or to help you make decisions on email strategy.
* Email Tools and Strategy: Things to Keep in Mind Fact Sheet. - This resource came from the survey results and some online discussions we stimulated when we initially released the survey data. Again, it is a good resource in and of itself but also gives you a very concrete example of the kind of value added resources your community may appreciate.
